Who Killed Austin on General Hospital? Murderer May Be a 'Dead' Man
The plot thickened to the consistency of paste on General Hospital when the postman delivered Ava a photo of Austin’s dead body along with a note that read simply, “You’re welcome.” Immediately, fans began speculating that the murderous missive had been sent by the femme fatale’s former husband Nikolas by way of apology for his past misdeeds.
After all, why say it with flowers when you can say it with a funeral wreath?
Others wondered if maybe the serial killer who had long seen Ava as his soulmate was only “deceased” in air quotes, and Ryan Chamberlain remained a threat to Port Charles. Still others guessed, perhaps wishfully, that the message had come from another grave dweller: Ava’s ill-fated brother, Julian. Though they parted on iffy terms — at gunpoint — she was only trying to off him so that his imminent death would be as painless as possible.
Mind you, if Julian was sprung from the mausoleum, fan fave William deVry wouldn’t likely be playing him. Ahead of his exit in 2020, he said that if he left, he wouldn’t return. “That’s a promise,” he added at the time.
One final option: Ava’s twisted sister Olivia. She’s supposedly in Pentonville, but we all know how easily Port Charles villains slip in and out of prison. She could have sent the “You’re welcome” note sarcastically as she took out Austin and framed Ava for the murder.
